Libertarian philosophy is a Utopian ideal predicated upon circular logic and an imaginary society where everyone are not just rational actors but are also possessed of a uniformity of thought that simply could not ever exist.

It’s magical thinking that relies almost entirely on confirmation bias to maintain through special pleading and various other logical fallacies.

Libertarian philosophy pretty much requires one to ignore the entirety of human history and just assume that all the problems that resulted in the creation of governments and regulations in the first place will just magically disappear.

They can’t point to a single society that has existed anywhere during any time in human history where anything resembling their philosophy has actually resulted in a functioning “free” society. They have to hand-wave away every example where the existence of minimal government has resulted in brutal totalitarian societies.

They have to rely on deductive reasoning and “Logic(ical Fallacies)” because those pesky little facts that come from observing reality don’t support their desired conclusions.

Even if you were to get beyond all the other problems with the ideology it still suffers from the same ultimate failing that doomed communism in the Soviet Union, it has no mechanism inherent in it’s design to prevent subversion by the unscrupulous. There is nothing to prevent some particularly successful person from turning around and leveraging that success to change the rules of the game.

Since there is no balancing mechanism to adjust for the power imbalance between different members of their society (hint that’s one of governments biggest roles) the successful will at some point start gaming the system. They will use their wealth and power to secure and expand their power and soon enough you end up with something strongly resembling Somalia.

Now I wait for the accusations of my attacking a straw man. But just watch, there won’t be any attempt to actually address any of the arguments. They won’t be able to offer any sort of explanation of why their implementation of small government would be any more successful than any other example of such governments in human history.
